The historic importance of Mattanchery Synagogue can be understood by the fact that, in 1968, the synagogue celebrated its 400th anniversary in a ceremony attended by then P.M Indira Gandhi.The postal department released a stamp to commemorate the event.
Visitors are permitted inside Mattanchery Synagogue between 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM and from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.Mattanchery Synagogue remains closed on Sundays and Jewish holidays.
